After weeks of speculation and questioning on what they would do, the Browns on Thursday night in round one of the NFL Draft did the right thing, snagging offensive tackle Jedrick Wills Jr. from Alabama.
Jake Trotter of ESPN gave his take on exactly why the Browns selected the big tackle:
The Browns had to address pass protection after quarterback Baker Mayfield was sacked more often than any AFC quarterback per passing attempt last season. In Wills, Cleveland presumably gets its left tackle of the future to pair with what the Browns hope is still its franchise quarterback in Mayfield.
