The Browns are interested in trading for the San Francisco 49ers quarterback, a source familiar with the situation confirmed Thursday for the Beacon Journal.
The Denver Broncos and New York Jets are in the sweepstakes as well, several media outlets reported Thursday morning.
The Broncos are believed to be the favorite to acquire Kaepernick, according to the Sacramento Bee. NFL Network’s Michael Silver said on the air the Browns are far more serious in their pursuit of Kaepernick than the Jets.
The Super Bowl champion Broncos are in the hunt for a quarterback after Peyton Manning retired this week and Brock Osweiler signed Wednesday with the Houston Texans.
