The Cleveland Browns have signed TE Matt Lengel (pronounced LENG-guhl) to the active roster from the practice squad. In addition, the team signed OL Victor Salako (pronounced suh-LAY-koh) to the practice squad.
Lengel is 6-7, 265 pounds and in his second NFL season out of Eastern Kentucky, Originally signed by Cincinnati as an undrafted free agent in 2015, he spent all of 2015 and the first eight weeks of the 2016 season as a member of the Bengals’ practice squad before being added to New England’s active roster on Nov. 2. Lengel appeared in six regular-season games for the Patriots last season, as well as all three of the team’s postseason games, including Super Bowl LI.
