As it stands today, the Cleveland Browns will carry 13 defensive linemen into the beginning of OTAs next Tuesday. That number is relatively staggering and represents a shift in how the Browns built their roster this offseason.
In last year’s Week 1 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Browns carried seven defensive linemen with two others stashed on the practice squad.
Looking ahead to an intense mini-camp and training camp battles, coach Mike Pettine already envisions some excruciating decisions.
“You know you are building a good roster when you realize there are some good football players that might end up on the outside looking in,” Pettine said.
