Browns defensive lineman Phil Taylor sat out and quarterback Johnny Manziel continued to rest his throwing arm Thursday during the half-hour period of practice open to the media.
Taylor was sidelined for the first two preseason games and limited throughout training camp as he attempts to bounce back after undergoing two surgeries last year on his right knee.
It's not known why Taylor didn't participate in the open period Thursday. He rode a stationary bike and worked out on the side along with cornerbacks K'Waun Williams (abdominal), Justin Gilbert (hip flexor) and Robert Nelson (hamstring), offensive tackle Michael Bowie (shoulder) and nose tackle Ishmaa'ily Kitchen (groin).
