BEREA, OH – On Tuesday, the Cleveland Browns claimed punter Justin Vogel off of waivers. The move arms them with not one, not two, but three punters on their 90-man roster.
To make room for Vogel, the Browns waived quarterback Joel Stave who they signed last week.
Vogel signed with Green Bay as an undrafted free agent last spring and appeared in every game for the Packers, during his rookie campaign. Despite posting a single’season franchise record 41.6 net punt average and putting 19 of his 71 punts down inside the 20 yard line, Green Bay wound up using a fifth round pick in April’s NFL Draft to select Vogel’s replacement, JK Scott.
