In the meantime, Browns coach Mike Pettine revealed backup quarterback Johnny Manziel has been throwing "a tennis ball, a weighted ball" while rehabilitating his sore right arm.
"He's going through his rehab protocol," Pettine said Friday during a conference call. "We expect him to be throwing a football soon, if not today.
"I just know he's where he should be in the protocol. ... He gets looked at [by our medical staff] every day. ... I just know he's on schedule."
Manziel hasn't thrown a football since Aug. 23, when he felt soreness in his elbow and forearm after he completed a deep pass during practice.
