The Cleveland Browns have now had their third backup offensive guard opt out for the 2020 season, with the latest being Malcolm Pridgeon. Best known for his time with the Ohio State Buckeyes, Pridgeon was on the team’s practice squad last year.
Unless Pridgeon was a high-risk player, I don’t believe he is eligible for the $150,000 salary advance on his deal, since he was not on the roster for three weeks last year.
The opt-out deadline is today at 4:00 PM ET. The Browns haven’t been hit too bad with opt outs thus far, but we’ll see if any more names hit the wire in the next couple hours.
