That means that the team has a week to sign or in one case redo a contract to keep four starters from hitting the free-agent market.
Negotiations for free safety Tashaun Gipson, tackle Mitchell Schwartz, receiver Travis Benjamin and center Alex Mack (who can opt out of his deal up to March 4) are not exactly progressing on the fast track.
