The Browns have maintained that the plan is to start Taylor and let Mayfield, the No. 1 overall pick, watch this season. The two-time Pro Bowler was acquired this past offseason in a trade with the Buffalo Bills. Stanton has been a big help to Mayfield as the rookie tries to learn his way around the NFL.
The Browns signed Hyde to a three-year deal this offseason after the former Ohio State running back rushed for at least 940 yards in each of the past two seasons with the San Francisco 49ers.
