Browns 28, Titans 14: Johnny Manziel’s late-game magic prompts defender to curse, lifts Cleveland to victory in home opener

CLEVELAND: Johnny Manziel directed a middle-finger salute toward Washington’s sideline during a preseason game last summer while Brian Orakpo served as the ringleader in mercilessly taunting him.

But a little more than a year later, Manziel prompted Orakpo to curse out of frustration as the second-year quarterback and wide receiver Travis Benjamin lifted the Browns to a 28-14 win against the Tennessee Titans in the home opener Sunday at FirstEnergy Stadium.

After the Titans cut their 21-0 halftime deficit to just seven points midway through the fourth quarter, the Browns needed to stop the bleeding to seal their third victory in a home opener since 1999.
