Battery complaint reportedly dismissed against Browns rookie Caleb Brantley

The misdemeanor battery case against Cleveland Browns rookie defensive tackle Caleb Brantley has been dismissed, according to Matt Baker of the Tampa Bay Times.

  • Brantley, who was selected in the sixth round out of Florida, was PFF’s No. 3 interior defensive lineman entering the 2017 NFL Draft.
  • His pass-rushing productivity rating of 11.7 was tied for fourth among this year’s drafted interior defenders, while his run-stop percentage of 11.3 was fifth.
  • Brantley’s ability to get after the quarterback will provide a boost to a Cleveland defense that didn’t have a player earn a pass-rushing grade higher than 72.
