BEREA: Doran Grant hails from Browns country, so just about everyone he encounters from his hometown of Akron has something to say about him crossing enemy lines.
The Pittsburgh Steelers kept their pipeline from Ohio State University alive last month by picking Grant in the fourth round (121st overall) of the NFL Draft.
As a result, the support the St. Vincent-St. Mary High School graduate receives from some Northeast Ohioans will always come with a stipulation.
“They say, ‘I’m going to cheer for you, but I’m not going to cheer for the Steelers,’” Grant said Tuesday while players from the AFC participated in a youth football clinic at Browns headquarters as part of the NFL Rookie Symposium.
