The Seahawks have multiple positions they could have drafted with the 29th pick, but after all the big 3 OTs (Williams, Taylor, or Dillard) have been taken, and this being a talent heavy defense draft, a talented CB, LB, or S could easily be found in the 2nd round. It only made sense to take best overall player available, the 6’4” 249lbs TE from Iowa. Fant has been described as bulked up slot receiver which well benefit Russell Wilson and overall passing game.
