2017 NFL Draft: Browns will likely pick players from Senior Bowl and Phil Savage breaks down which ones would fit

The Browns believe coaching in the Senior Bowl this past January gave them a significant advantage while preparing for the NFL Draft, and history says they’ll likely select multiple prospects who played in the college all-star game.

Of the 20 teams that coached in the Senior Bowl during the past 10 years, 16 drafted a player who participated in the showcase with 15 picking at least two prospects.

Nobody knows all of the Senior Bowl players quite like Phil Savage, executive director of the event and a former Browns general manager. He recently spoke to the Beacon Journal by phone about the Browns’ needs and players from the Senior Bowl who could be summoned to fill them Thursday through Saturday during the draft.
