Berea: Amid some speculation about the Browns possibly stunning the NFL at the start of the draft, they instead did what most people in league circles have long expected, selecting Texas A&M defensive end Myles Garrett first overall Thursday night.
Garrett became the fourth player the Browns have picked at No. 1 and the most recent since they chose defensive end Courtney Brown in 2000.
“He’s a tremendous football player,” Browns coach Hue Jackson said on NFL Network shortly before the draft began. “He embodies everything that we look for in a Cleveland Brown.”
Things will get really interesting for the Browns later in the opening round.
