It sure wasn't pretty, but the Browns got the win over Tampa Bay and moved to 5-3 on the season.
Turning Point:
This one hinged on Brian Hoyer's fourth-quarter TD pass to unheralded WR Taylor Gabriel, who took it 34 yards to the house. Cleveland's defense finished the job, seeing the game out as the Browns picked up their second straight win.
Browns MVP:
This one goes to Taylor Gabriel. The rookie WR out of Abilene Christian has been quietly impressive without Josh Gordon on the field, and this performance (5 catches for 87 yards and a TD) will hopefully get him some recognition on the national level. Gabriel has four games with at least 60 receiving yards in his first 8 NFL starts.
Bucs MVP:
FS Major Wright deserves props for his energy on defense, but this has to go to WR Mike Evans. The rookie out of Texas A&M burned the Browns for a pair of 24-yard TD catches, and he once again showed off his ability to excel at this level.
What's Next?
Cleveland travels to local rival Cincinnati for a Thursday Night Football matchup, while the reeling Bucs will try to get back on track with a home game against the Atlanta Falcons next Sunday.
