Before he came to Clemson, Peter Woods was a coveted five-star prospect in the 2023 recruiting class, ranked as high as the No. 1 defensive lineman and fourth-best prospect in the country, regardless of position, by ESPN.
On July 8, 2022, Woods committed to Clemson, as the Tigers beat out Alabama to land the Alabaster, Ala. native and Thompson High School star.
Woods recently appeared on The Pivot Podcast and was asked how he ended up escaping Tuscaloosa to get to Clemson, as a five-star from Alabama.
Now a rising junior, Woods reflected on his decision to choose Clemson and Dabo Swinney’s program over the Crimson Tide, led by then Alabama head coach Nick Saban.
