Before Sunday, the 22-year-old was stuck on the New York Giants inactive list and behind veteran running backs Shane Vereen, Orleans Darkwa and starter Paul Perkins. With Darkwa out, Gallman finally got a chance to suit up and, coincidentally, on his 23rd birthday.
The Giants offense has really struggled to run the ball this season and that trend continued on Sunday. Vereen and Perkins combined to rush for 27 yards on 14 carries in the first two quarters.
Gallman entered at the 2:29 mark of the first quarter and rushed for two yards. After Perkins left the third with a rib injury, his second NFL carry netted 13 yards and his second catch was a four-yard touchdown that gave the Giants a 17-16 third quarter advantage.
