Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson met with the media on Monday to discuss this week’s game against South Carolina in Columbia.
This is the second time Watson, who is from Gainesville, Ga., has played in the Palmetto State’s biggest rivalry. He said he did not get a true understanding of how big this game really is until after last year’s 35-17 victory to snap the Gamecocks’ five-game winning streak in the series.
With the Tigers ranked No. 1 in the country, and looking to finish the regular season undefeated for the first time since 1981, Watson says they are expecting to get South Carolina’s best effort on Saturday at Williams-Brice Stadium.
