Late last week, Clemson offered Union High School wide receiver Shi Smith.
The 2017 prospect got word from his head coach, former South Carolina head coach Steve Taneyhill.
Smith has been in contact with the Clemson coaches since last summer.
“I was camping down there and they had told me they were just waiting for the right time,” he told TheClemsonInsider, during a recent interview.
The 5-foot-11, 175-pound prospect was happy to snag the offer.
“I think it’s pretty good,” he said. “I was talking to Roscoe Crosby, from Union, he was telling me that Deshaun Watson was a big leader and he runs the offense pretty well.
