Fifth-ranked Clemson earned its third straight shutout for the first-time since 1992 with an 8-0 victory over Furman on Tuesday night at Doug Kingsmore Stadium. Clemson pitching has now recoded 28 straight scoreless innings.
Clemson’s Tyler Jackson earned the win on the mound, while right fielder Weston Jackson hit two runs and was 3-for-4 with 5 RBIs at the plate.
Tyler Jackson went 6 2/3 innings for the Tigers on Tuesday night, giving up no runs, while scattering five hits. He also had four strikeouts and walked just one batter.
The Paladins (11-12) had runners on first and second with one out in the top of the second inning, but Jackson got Dillon Love to strike out swinging and Jake Crawford to groundout to third base to retire the side.
