Clemson started out ACC play with a 3-2 win over Georgia Tech in Doug Kingsmore Stadium on Friday night.
Georgia Tech entered the contest with one batter hitting below .270 and a .344 batting average for its starting lineup but a great starting outing from Tigers Jacob Hennessy and a solid relief appearance from Ryan Miller kept the Yellow Jackets at bay.
The Tigers took advantage of a few pitches up in the zone with a pair of solo homeruns from Seth Beer and Bryce Teodosio.
Beer finished 2-for-4 on the day with a homerun and a single in the eighth that advanced Logan Davidson to third leading to the go-ahead run.
