Clemson bombed Western Carolina in Game 2 of the Clemson Regional on Friday at Doug Kingsmore Stadium, literally. It was a nice way to end a five-game losing streak in the NCAA Tournament, as the top seeded Tigers beat No. 4 Western Carolina, 24-10.
The Tigers, who had not won a NCAA Tournament game since the Columbia Regional in 2013, had seven home runs, the most this season in a game and the most in a NCAA Tournament game since 2002 when they had six against Georgia Southern. It was also the most home runs in one game since March of 2010 when they did the same to Georgia Southern.
