Temple hands Tigers first loss

Despite getting a game-high 16 points from guard Shelton Mitchell, Clemson lost its first game of the season Sunday night in Charleston as Temple up ended Clemson, 67-60, in the championship game of the Charleston Classic.

The Owls were led by Shizz Alston, who scored 14 points in the victory at the TD Arena. In all, they had five players score in double digits, including Quinton Rose, who scored 10 points, had 11 rebounds and 4 assists.

Temple (3-0) shot just 37 percent from the field and was outscored by Clemson in the paint 30-16. However, the Tigers turned the basketball over 18 times, including four offensive fouls in the second half.
