Brent Venables looked a bit testy after Thursday afternoon’s stadium scrimmage.
Maybe it was the five “dumb plays” the Tigers’ defensive coordinator saw from his unit.
“We played dumb football. That’s a reflection of dumb coaching,” he said. “I was a dummy today five times. Not happy with that. That’s not acceptable…five plays I’m really disappointed in, two weeks outside the game.”
Then again, it might have something to do with the lack of experienced bodies at linebacker. At Mike and Will, Venables feels good about his starters, B.J. Goodson and Ben Boulware. From there, things start to get dicey.
