Swinney Talks Different Spring Game Format, Decision Not to Televise It

Clemson’s annual Orange vs. White Spring Game will be different this year.

Instead of having both offensive and defensive players on each team, the Tigers will have the whole offense on one team (wearing orange) and the defense on the other team (wearing white).

Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney discussed the new spring game format during an interview on ACC Network’s ACC PM show this week, saying the Tigers are doing it differently due to injuries.

“We usually always split the team as evenly as possible,” Swinney said. “But we have so many guys out this year, it’s hard for us to have the offense on two different sidelines because of the way we’d have to sub.
