Swinney evasive on Kelly Bryant's status

Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney was direct in what he said about quarterback Kelly Bryant’s injury status on Tuesday. However, he was also a little evasive in his comments as well.

“He has been good. He practiced all day yesterday,” Swinney said. “He ran well. I was very encouraged.”

Swinney would not say if Bryant will start in Friday’s game at Syracuse. Bryant of course injured his left ankle in the third quarter of last week’s win over Wake Forest. Backup quarterbacks Zerrick Cooper and Hunter Johnson quarterbacked the rest of the way.

Swinney did not indicate if Bryant or if one of the two freshmen will start on Friday.
