Stud freshman prospect has Clemson's interest

Atlanta (Ga.) Woodward Academy athlete Arik Gilbert is one of the top freshman prospects in the country, and he visited Clemson three times as a recruit last fall.

Clemson welcomed him to its campus again this week for the second session of the Dabo Swinney Camp.

“It was great,” Gilbert told TCI. “I learned from the coaches there, went against good competition and had a good time overall.”

Just a freshman, Gilbert is listed at 6-foot-4, 230 pounds, and is on his way to becoming a national recruit. Among his offers already are Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Michigan, Ohio State and Tennessee.
