The Clemson Tigers open their 119th season on the baseball diamond with a three-game home series against Maine starting on Friday at 4 p.m. at Doug Kingsmore Stadium in Clemson.
Clemson shortstop Eli White, who grew up nearby, Easley, S.C., says he is excited to get the new season started, especially with all the new changes at Clemson within the coaching staff and the new players’ facility.
Clemson had a 32-29 overall record and 16-13 ACC mark in 2015. Clemson won all three games against Maine in Augusta, Ga., in February 2015.
The Tigers, led by first-year head coach Monte Lee, return six of nine position starters and 32 percent of their innings pitched from 2015.
