CLEMSON – Dwayne Allen and Brandon Ford paved the way for tight ends at Clemson with record-breaking careers, but after their departure the production from that unit has essentially fallen off the map.
Allen and Ford thrived in Clemson’s spread offense, accounting for 115 receptions for 1,326 yards and 20 touchdowns in 2011 – Allen’s final season – and 2012 – Ford’s senior season. In comparison, last year’s group of Jordan Leggett, Sam Cooper, Stanton Seckinger and Jay Jay McCullough caught 31 passes for 381 yards and three scores.
