Raleigh sticking to decision - Former baseball signee will not attend Clemson

All-American catcher Cal Raleigh will not attend Clemson.

Raleigh, who signed with Clemson in November, was granted a release by the school after longtime coach Jack Leggett was fired earlier this month.

About 24 hours after Clemson announced that Monte Lee was hired as Leggett’s replacement, Raleigh told TheClemsonInsider that he would stick to his decision.

“My loyalty and allegiance is with coach Leggett,” Raleigh said. “He is a great man and a Hall of Fame coach and I’m disappointed I will never get a chance to play for him.”

As a senior at Smoky Mountain High School in Sylva, N.
