Clemson cornerback Trayvon Mullen was selected by the Oakland/Las Vegas Raiders in the second round of the NFL draft with pick number 40.
Mullen is the 4th member of Clemson’s defense to be selected in the first two rounds of the NFL draft. He will join fellow Tiger Clelin Ferrell in Oakland/Las Vegas.J ohn Gruden and Mike Mayock (the Raiders G.M.) are trying to rebuild the “culture” in Oakland. It’s not surprising that Clemson defenders factor heavily into the rebuild.
Mullen was two year starter for the vaunted Tiger defense. As a sophomore, Mullen recorded 40 tackles, 3 interceptions, and 6 passes defended.
