Greenwood (S.C.) Emerald four-star tight end Luke Deal grew up a Clemson fan, living about an hour and a half away from the school.
On Monday, Deal received a scholarship offer from his dream school.
“It’s awesome,” Deal said of his new Clemson offer. “They’re one of the most winningest programs in the past couple years, and I’m really honored about it. It’s great. Such a prestigious program, and it’s a real honor, for sure.”
Clemson tight ends coach Danny Pearman conveyed the offer during a phone conversation.
“He said he likes my motor and the aggressiveness with which I play on offense,” Deal said of Pearman.
