Clemson had its six-game winning streak in the ACC snapped Sunday thanks to a 9-5 loss to NC State at Doak Field in Raleigh, N.C.
After Max Wagner scored in the top of the eighth inning to tie the game at 5-5, the Wolfpack got a one-out single designated hitter Terrell Tatum to left center field in bottom frame bring the winning runs. Clemson closer Geoffrey Gilbert, who came on with two outs in the seventh suffered the loss for Clemson as he gave up four runs in the eighth.
Gilbert gave up a lead-off walk and then a single, before a wild pitch and an intentional walk set up Tatum for the winning hit.
