Nine former student-athletes and a coach comprise Clemson’s Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2015, which is headlined by former NFL linebacker Ed McDaniel and former basketball star Billy Williams.
Induction weekend is scheduled for Oct. 9-10, with the inductees being honored at the Clemson-Georgia Tech football game on Oct. 10.
McDaniel played football for the Tigers from 1988-’91 and earned first-team All-American honors in 1991. A fifth-round draft pick of the Minnesota Vikings in 1992, McDaniel enjoyed a 10-year NFL career with the Vikings. He was selected to the Pro Bowl in 1998.
At Clemson, McDaniel was the starting middle linebacker on the Tigers’ 1990 defense which led the nation is total yards allowed.
