Making the Grade: Clemson passes opening test

Top-ranked Clemson had no issues in disposing of Wake Forest Saturday night as it rolled to a 37-13 victory in Winston-Salem, N.C.

But how did the Tigers fair overall? Did they make a passing grade in their opening game? Here are my grades from Clemson’s first game of the season.

Quarterback: B

If I were just grading Trevor Lawrence, I would give him an easy “A.” There were only three negatives I can remember from Lawrence. He took a sack for a 16-yard loss on the opening drive, he missed fired on a deep pass to Frank Landson later in the first quarter and then he lost four seconds in the Tigers’ two-minute drill by failing to call a timeout.
