SUNSET — Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney says kicker Ammon Lakip will have an opportunity to return to the team at the earliest when school starts.
Swinney told that to the media who gathered at The Reserve at Lake Keowee in Sunset for his annual media golf outing on Wednesday.
“Hopefully, he will have a chance to return to our team at the earliest when school starts,” Swinney said.
Lakip has been suspended indefinitely by Swinney following his June 6 arrest for driving under the influence and simple possession of cocaine. Swinney says Lakip will not start fall practice with the rest of the team, and more than likely will have to miss a few games once he comes back.
