RALEIGH, NC — TCI looks back at Clemson’s 3-2 loss to NC State on Thursday night at Doak Field.
What happened?
The Tigers (38-16, 16-12 ACC) took an early lead in the second thanks to a two-out solo homer from Weston Jackson. The Wolfpack (32-21, 15-13 ACC) answered immediately in the bottom of the frame as they struck for two two-out runs to take a 2-1 lead. Clemson tied the game in the fourth as Seth Beer launched a leadoff homer to tie the game at 2-2. NC State would win the game in the bottom of the eighth as a two-out, strike three wild pitch allowed the winning run to come in and give the Wolfpack the game one win.
