CLEMSON, SC — TCI takes a look back at Clemson’s 2-1 win over William & Mary on Sunday afternoon at Doug Kingsmore Stadium.
What happened?
The Tigers (3-0) took an early 1-0 lead in the second inning. Back-to-back singles from Chris Williams and Robert Jolly gave Clemson runners on the corners and Drew Wharton picked up an RBI on a groundout. The Tigers doubled their lead in the fourth as three walks loaded the bases and Justin Hawkins picked up his first RBI on a HBP to make it 2-0. The Tribe (0-3) would break through for a run in the sixth to trim the lead to 2-1, but the Clemson bullpen would shut them down the rest of the game to complete the sweep.
