In baseball, hitting is very contagious, and that was the case for 11th-ranked Clemson Tuesday in its 12-4 victory over Furman.
After getting one run off three hits in the first four innings of the game at Doug Kingsmore Stadium, the Tigers (4-0) exploded for 11 runs in the fifth, sixth and seven innings, including a three-run home run by Chris Williams’ to right centerfield in the fifth and a two-run homer by Justin Hawkins in the bottom of the seventh.
Williams finished the night two hits and 6 RBIs, while Robert Jolly went 2-for-2 with one RBI.
