Clemson head coach Monte Lee and the Tigers picked up a big commitment on Tuesday evening in left-handed pitcher and outfielder Geoffrey Gilbert.
Gilbert, a native of Charleston, is one of the top arms in the 2019 class. Gilbert was also offered by South Carolina, where his parents attended school.
Lee expressed interest to Gilbert after his performance in the Diamond Prospects Showcase game last November. After visiting both Clemson and South Carolina, he ultimately decided that Clemson is the right fit.
“It’s a big weight off my shoulders,” Gilbert told The Clemson Insider of the commitment.
