In the wee hours of Wednesday morning, the Clemson Tigers fell just short of winning an epic matchup with rival Georgia. The Tigers held a 2-0 lead going to the seventh before Cam Shepard hit an RBI double, and then proceeded to score on the same play when freshman outfielder Elijah Henderson made a critical throwing error, losing the ball in his attempt to throw it back to the infield.
The two teams would stay tied until the 20th inning when UGA’s Connor Tate hit a walk off, bases loaded single to give UGA the 3-2 win and the series sweep.
