Thanks to a strong performance by South Carolina’s Savannah McCaskill, the fourth-ranked Tigers fell to the seventh-ranked Gamecocks 1-0 at Historic Riggs Field on Friday in Clemson.
“I’m actually quite pleased with how we played,” Clemson head coach Eddie Radwanski said afterward. “We created a greater number of the chances. We would have liked our quality to be a little better. These were two good teams playing and someone took advantage of their moment.”
And that was South Carolina.
It didn’t take too long for the Gamecocks (6-1) to get on the scoreboard. At 17 minute mark, Elexa Bahr was able to bury a ball in the back of the net off of a well-placed through ball by McCaskill for the only goal of the match.
