Former Clemson quarterback Zerrick Cooper is transferring to play football for the Gamecocks, just not the Gamecocks in South Carolina.
Cooper announced on Twitter Tuesday evening that he will continue his career at Jacksonville State, an FCS program in Alabama.
Cooper will be eligible to play immediately.
He served as a backup to Kelly Bryant this past season, alongside Hunter Johnson.

The Georgia native played in seven games in 2017, completing 25 of 41 passes for 256 yards and two touchdowns.
