Farewell to Clemson TE Cannon Smith

Cannon Smith was part of the 2014 recruiting class, committing to the Tigers back in July of 2014. He is the son of Bill Smith, a former Tiger DE who was on the 1981 national title team and who currently sits on the Board of Trustees.

With Danny Pearman being the lead recruiter for his services, Smith came from Hammond High School in Columbia, SC and was a 4-star prospect per the 247 Composite Rankings. ESPN ranked him as the 3rd best blocking TE, with Scout having him as the 7th best overall TE in the nation. He appeared in 58 games (1 start) during his career, which ties him with Christian Wilkins for the most in school history.
