While Clemson’s starting four defensive linemen, along with Albert Huggins, have received most of the praise during Clemson’s run to glory, Chris Register’s work and commitment to the program should not be overlooked. Register came to Clemson as a three-star recruit out of Greensboro, NC. He had a slew of offers, but chose Clemson over the other schools in his final group (Kentucky, Auburn, Florida State, and Indiana).
Register was originally slated to play outside linebacker, but following his redshirted freshman season in 2014, made the move to defensive end. Chris battled through injuries in 2015, and then he played in a reserve role behind the Power Rangers in 2016, 2017, and 2018.
