Errors prove costly as Tigers fall to Wolfpack

CLEMSON – A lack of offensive production and too many errors cost Clemson in game one of a three-game series with N.C. State

No. 2 Clemson mustered just six hits – all singles – and was charged with five errors in Friday night’s 4-0 loss to 10th ranked N.C. State. The Tigers dropped to 16-2 overall and 3-1 in the ACC, while the Wolfpack improved to 16-3 and 3-1.

Clemson’s 6-7-8 hitters – Drew Wharton, Grayson Byrd and Kyle Wilkie – accounted for four of Clemson six hits. Byrd had two hits, while Wharton and Wilkie each added a single.
