Clemson co-offensive coordinator Tony Elliott said on Monday he was not worried about the offense during the first half of Saturday’s win over Florida State because he knew it was just a matter of time before they started to connected on the plays they were just missing on.
Three times in the first half, Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson overthrew potential big plays in the passing game when he missed on a long throw to wide receiver Charone Peake, overthrew a wide open Jordan Leggett down the seam, and then missed on a screen pass to running back Wayne Gallman, who could have run for days, in the second quarter.
