In 2021, Clemson faced the Georgia Bulldogs in Charlotte. It was an ugly game that ended with a 10-3 Georgia win as the Tigers amounted only 180 yards. The Bulldogs would go on to win the National Championship behind an all-world defense. Clemson’s offense would struggle all year, and they ended the season in the Cheez-It Bowl (10-3).
Since then, a lot has changed, yet it all feels so eerily similar. For three consecutive offseasons, changes were made to the coaching staff after what felt like eons of continuity. Each time, there was fan excitement about the improvements, many of which had been asked for long ago, but each time, the results have been the same.
